Deaf Vocational Training Center, Bangalore
Varna Mission Statement:
We believe Deaf/Mute people should have equal opportunities to able bodied and not be the forgotten ostracised exploited people in our society.
Our deaf/mute vocational training programmes will equip deaf/mute people with
- Personality development
- Skills and knowledge to access equal employment.
- Deaf self-employment,
- Health issues.
- All deaf concerns and entitlements in South India.
The majority of these people are deprived job opportunities due to lack of skills, communication difficulties with hearing people and many more challenges in presenting themselves. We have aimed to provide training and development programs to young unskilled men and women helping with job placements, and making them independent adding value to their well being. The training programme is initially designed to provide deaf/mute people with specific skills like tailoring, computers, electronics and many more. It will be managed and monitored by specialised sign language experts as well as interpreters and trained experienced deaf experts in all these respective fields.
During the programme, we will help to build their self-confidence and morale by conducting regular seminars, personality development programs and individual counselling. They will be provided with job placement opportunities or encouraged to be self employed by providing micro interest free loans.
Overall, we aim to bring a positive and life-changing impact on the lives of deaf/mute trainees and their families.
